| This design by Gunditjmara woman and artist, Laura Thompson, recognises the diversity of Aboriginal players at Carlton, their cultural identity, families and the Country to which they belong. The campfires on the shoulders of the guernsey represent the gathering of Carlton players, staff and fans - uniting together proudly to be part of the Navy Blue. It also honours and pays respect to the Traditional Custodians of the land on which the Carlton Football Club is located, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. The side panels represent the Birrarung Marr, also known as the Yarra River. Birrarung in Woi Wurrung language means ‘River of Mists’. |
