The connection felt between the Kangaroos Indigenous players to their kinship Country and the club, forms the inspiration of the artwork on the North Melbourne Kangaroos 2023 Indigenous Guernsey. Connecting Through Identity by Emma Bamblett places a football field at the hear of the design. Centred in the field is the Aboriginal Flag. The back of the guernsey features the totems of each player – the long-necked turtle (Simpkin), the platypus and the goanna (Thomas) and the Barramundi fish (Spicer). Water features prominently across the design with rivers bringing the three player together at the club at Ardern St Oval.
