QLD Maroons 2024 SOO PUMA Youth Indigenous Hoodie | Grey
Based off the design used for the 2024 QLD Maroons Indigenous Jersey, this Indigenous hoody was designed by the late Carl Webb and embraces the deep connection to the land and the indigenous culture of Queensland.
FOG #124, Webb, announced in early 2020 that he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, a rare condition attacking the nerve cells which control breathing, moving, swallowing and speaking. Despite his diagnosis, he was determined to do his part to ensure others who contract the disease have a fighting chance by speaking up to raise awareness and education about MND. In late 2023, Webb tragically passed away, leaving behind a lasting legacy of the Carl Webb Foundation.
About the design:
Carl Webb's signature features on the top back, a testament to his influential role in Queensland's rugby league history. Behind his signature a representation of the iconic 'Q' Carl cut into his hair during in time in the Maroons jersey.
The artwork has a focus on individuals coming together to create a team, much like what occurs on the rugby league field as well as representations of ancestors. The maroon underlayer to the artwork represents the spirit of Queensland.
